Sense of Place - Architecture
This A2 drawing was drawn from life as I visited a closed down industrial factory in Digbeth, Birmingham. The image was drawn using black biro onto acrylic covered acetate. This drawing is part of my 'sense of place' project focusing on the distorted identity perspective of Birminghams industrial buildings. This drawing was based off a photo I had taken of the old law courts in Birmingham. The A3 image was done using biro, charcoal, pencil and ink and has layers of masking tap across it. Being part of my 'sense of place' project the image aims to reflect some distorted sense of place as it differs from its surrounding architecture. This image is of my final piece. Each scene has been etched into transparent acrylic using a scribe. The scenes are based off my photography and were used as part as an installation piece.
